• If the courier delivers a damaged or soaked package, you must refuse the delivery and fill out a damage report with the courier on the day of delivery.

Complaints are accepted for queens that meet the following criteria:

  • Queens delivered dead or in poor condition (preventing introduction to a colony): A damage report must be completed with the courier upon delivery, and the queen must be returned in her unopened transport cage. This is a mandatory requirement for receiving replacement queens.

  • Clear morphological defects visible before introduction to a colony: (e.g., missing wings or legs).

  • Failure to start laying or drone-laying in colonies with proper biological structure: (This applies to naturally mated queens with proven laying ability).

  • Failure to start laying within 14 days of release from the cage: (This applies to instrumentally inseminated queens).

Complaints are not accepted for queens that:

  • Were stung or balled by the colony: (either within the transport cage or after release).

  • Smoleń Breeding Apiary is not responsible for the method or success of queen introduction: The beekeeper assumes all risks regarding the choice of colonies and the techniques used for introducing queens.

  • Fail to start laying after mating flights: (This applies to virgin/unmated queens).

  • Do not meet the customer’s expectations regarding performance traits.

  • Were purchased in previous years.

The return of a contested queen bee is at the buyer’s expense and must be preceded by notifying the apiary.
If the complaint is approved, the replacement queen will be shipped at the expense of Smoleń Breeding Apiary at the earliest possible date.
If shipping a replacement queen is not possible, we will issue a refund for the contested queen bee.
